Queenford Lamb

Cotswolds are one of the largest of the British sheep breeds. They are wonderfully calm and ‘sensible’ sheep as well as excellent milky mothers. It is important to us at Queenford Farm, that all our sheep are good examples of the breed. The best sheep appear at various shows through the season. Others are sold or kept as breeding stock, while the remaining lambs are sold, neatly packed and ‘freezer ready’ direct to customers. All our lambs in the Queenford Box Scheme are born on the farm so the number available each year (end July – beginning November) is strictly limited.

Roast Lamb with Orange and Rosemary

Cotswold lamb is delicately-flavoured and delicious. We only supply local customers as all our lambs have to be collected from the farm or are delivered locally by special arrangement.

If you would like to join our Customer List and be notified when our next batch of lambs will be ready for collection – then please email us or phone Mob: 07768 354613. There is no commitment to buy a lamb each year – only an opportunity to do so if the timing of a batch suits you.

All lambs must be pre-ordered. Customers can specify if they would like a whole, or a half lamb and whether they would prefer a large lamb (19kg+), a medium lamb (17-18kg) or a small lamb 15-16kg, and we will do our best to fulfil the request!

A Standard Lamb: 2 x whole legs, 2 x whole shoulders, chops packed in 4s, 2 x breasts, bones in and packed separately.

Customers can order any combination of half joints and racks of lamb (chined) at no extra cost. It is also possible to order boned and rolled joints, and diced or minced lamb, although there is an additional charge per joint. For those who want to reduce packaging, chops can be ordered loose in a bag for freezing individually.
